Science Week

The Great Outdoors.  Wow!  What a fabulous week we have had for science week.  The unanimous decision was "It was great Mrs Catlin, when can we do it again!" As I watched the week unfold, I saw children that were engaged in their learning, following instructions, behaving well, using tools that they may not have used before and listening to each other as they problem solved.  What more could we ask for as a school!

The children and their teachers have been building bug hotels, paths, cutting back brambles, bird watching and bug hunting. The language development and team work has been paramount. Children have had to talk to each other, take turns and help each other as they worked.  As the children worked so well together, these areas are ready for use straight away - what an achievement!

The children are all keen to continue to use and develop this new learning area.  Teachers will be utilising this area in their lessons and children attending gardening club will continue the development throughout the summer term.
