Waterside Academy Achieves School Games Silver Mark Award!

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Waterside Academy has been awarded the School Games Silver Mark for the 2024/25 academic year! This fantastic achievement recognises our dedication to fostering competition, not just within our school but also throughout the surrounding community. 

The School Games Mark is a prestigious Government-led award scheme facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust, aiming to celebrate schools for their commitment to sporting excellence since its launch in 2012.

This year, we've seen some remarkable sporting achievements, including:

- Participation in a variety of events for both KS1 and KS2 

- Delivery of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) to our teachers 

- Our highest ever finish in the football league 

- A diverse range of sports offered within the school and as extracurricular activities 

We couldn't be prouder of our children's dedication to all facets of school sport. Special thanks go to our young volunteers, leaders, and officials who made these competitions possible! 

Our success is a testament to the hard work across all areas of participation, competition, workforce and clubs. Huge kudos to:

- Everyone who has taken their class to a sporting event
