Since joining the school as Headteacher in September 2024, I have been proud to work alongside a dedicated staff team, supportive families and wonderful children to continue strengthening our school. We are a warm, inclusive and ambitious school where children are genuinely at the heart of every decision we make.

Our recent Ofsted inspection recognised the positive journey the school is on, highlighting the strong relationships across the school, the inclusive support provided for pupils and the calm, respectful culture that helps children feel safe and ready to learn. Inspectors particularly praised behaviour and attitudes, which were recognised as a strong standard, reflecting the high expectations, care and consistency that underpin daily life at Waterside.

These values are not simply displayed on walls — they are lived every day through the way children learn, play and support one another. We want every pupil to develop confidence, resilience, kindness and a genuine love of learning.

We are proud to offer a broad, engaging curriculum that helps children develop strong academic foundations whilst also nurturing creativity, curiosity and personal development. From early reading and phonics to sport, music, science, outdoor learning and leadership opportunities, we aim to provide experiences that prepare children well for the future. Our staff know the children exceptionally well and work hard to ensure that every child receives the support and challenge they need to succeed.

For families considering Nursery or Reception places, Waterside offers a nurturing start to school life where children quickly settle, build confidence and develop independence. We also warmly welcome families looking for places further up the school and are proud of the caring and supportive environment that helps new pupils settle successfully.
