Additional Music Lessons

At Waterside Academy, we want children to have opportunities to discover new interests, develop their talents and experience the enjoyment that making music can bring.

Alongside the music children experience as part of our curriculum, families can choose to access additional music lessons during the school day. These optional lessons are delivered by specialist external music providers and are paid for directly by parents and carers.

PianoFunClub

PianoFunClub gives children the opportunity to learn an instrument with a visiting professional music tutor.

Lessons take place during the school day and are designed to help children develop their musical skills, confidence and enjoyment of playing an instrument. PianoFunClub currently offers tuition in piano and guitar at Waterside.

A range of lesson options is available, including paired and individual tuition.

Rocksteady

Rocksteady Music School gives children the opportunity to learn music in a slightly different way, by becoming part of their own rock and pop band.

Children learn together in a fun and supportive group environment, led by a professional Rocksteady Band Leader. No previous musical experience is needed, making it an accessible opportunity for children who would simply like to have a go and discover a love of making music.

As they learn and perform together, children have opportunities to develop their musical skills alongside confidence, teamwork, creativity and self-belief.

Rocksteady also gives children opportunities to celebrate their progress through performances during the school year.

The Wider Waterside Experience

We believe that school should give children opportunities to find the things they enjoy and the areas in which they can shine.

Learning and making music can help children develop confidence, creativity, perseverance and self-expression, as well as giving them the excitement and sense of achievement that comes from learning something new.

We are delighted to be able to make these additional opportunities available to Waterside children as part of the wider experiences on offer at our school.
