World Book Day Celebrations

We have had a fantastic few days celebrating World Book Day at Waterside!

On Wednesday, we held our cosy Bedtime Stories event, where children came to school in their pyjamas with a favourite cuddly toy. They enjoyed listening to a story together while sipping a delicious hot chocolate – the perfect way to end the day! During the day, children also took part in The Great Character Hunt Workshops, searching for clues and celebrating some of our favourite book characters.

On Thursday, the school was full of wonderful costumes as children dressed up as their favourite book characters. We loved seeing everyone take part in our costume parade on the catwalk, before heading back to class for a range of fun book-themed activities.

Today we finished our celebrations with our book swap, giving children the chance to discover new stories and share books with one another.

It has been wonderful to see everyone immersing themselves in the joy of reading and literature this week. A huge thank you to our staff for organising such fantastic activities and to families for helping the children join in with the celebrations.
