SEND
Welcome to Waterside!
My name is Mr Sal and I am the SENDCO (Special Educational Needs and Disability Co-ordinator).
I am a qualified teacher with responsibility for SEND. I usually work at Waterside for two days a week (typically Mondays and Tuesdays) and am out-of-class so that I can maximise the impact of our work for the betterment of pupils at the school registered with a SEND. I joined the school in 2015 and enjoy working at Waterside Academy very much.
If your child has Special Educational Needs and/ or Disability (SEND) it will be a pleasure to meet you and work with you and your child at Waterside. Please contact the school office to make an appointment if you wish to discuss matters relating to your child as I am keen to develop a positive and supportive relationship with you and your child in addition to your child's Class Teacher and other Support Staff.
You will find the SEND Policy under School Information - Policies, SEND Information Report under Statutory Information and you can also find the Herts Local Offer online with this link; https://www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/microsites/Local-Offer/The-Hertfordshire-Local-Offer.aspx
Please do make further suggestions as to what information you will useful in this section and I will endeavour to provide it!
Best wishes,
Salim Muoria-Sal (Mr Sal)
